Summer Solstice is approaching… and here’s how to welcome in the new season!

Bold hues in vibrant prints are one of the qualities that set Bergstrom Originals apart, and this collection continues to bring you a fervour of colour. From the optical-illusion graphics of the Spinnaker Tunic Dress to the Regatta Dress in ikat-inspired geometry, this collection is cut from a fantastic array of quality fabrics.
Take a closer look at the layered print of our Tropical Parachute Tank… A soft green weave is printed on the smooth fabric, adding a textural image akin to vintage linen. Overlaid with a lush floral pattern, this print evokes a faded postcard from far away. With such an inspiring print, this top must be made to travel! Featherweight and wrinkle free, you can pull the Parachute Tank out of your bag and be ready for adventure. While putting together the Summer Collection this year, our fabric rep from the United Kingdom dropped by for a visit at our new design studio. Pattern pieces and swaths of material were spread over the cutting table; we were in the midst of designing a flowy, full-skirted summer dress. But we didn’t have a name for it yet! Overhearing the discussion, our fabric rep jumped in - “You should name it the Charlotte Dress,” he christened it, “After the new-born royal!”
So here’s homage to the beginning of sunny days and to a certain beautiful, bright-eyed baby. The design of our Charlotte Dress emerged with a cute fitted bodice and a great drape to the skirt. And the lovely Georgette fabric strewn with a black and royal blue daisy print comes to us all the way from the UK. We believe it’s a dress fit for a princess!
Another challenge we wanted to tackle this summer was to create that perfect pair of shorts; shorts you can wear to feel cool, classy, and wholly content. Not usually one to don shorts in the summer? Don’t settle for capris and pedal pushers when the sun gets hot - try on the Cabana Shorts!
The cut and fabric of these shorts come together to create a design that flatters the line of your legs, and is made to move around in. They are constructed with a mid-rise, contoured waistband and a slight A-line flare off the hip. Made from a lightweight but sturdy cotton twill, they have a touch of stretch to fit comfortably to your curves.
With classic safari detailing, the Cabana Shorts are a clean-cut base for floaty tops and blouses, or an easy, everyday match to your favourite tees. Try it on in Black and in a funky Neon Tiki print, and feel great about showing off your legs this summer!
