Who, What, Where: The Bauhaus Suit

Our Bauhaus Suit combines the early modernist aesthetic of the Bauhaus movement with the clean and groovy lines of early 60's fashion. An interesting juxtaposition, it emphasizes the advanced thinking of the Bauhaus, projecting a 1930's philosophy of change into an era that was all about change!

WHO:

The designers from the Bauhaus Movement are many, including: architect Mies van der Rohe, painter Wassily Kandinsky and furniture designer Marcel Breuer.

WHAT:

Bauhaus was a school in Germany that combined the ideas that mass-production was reconcilable with the individual artistic spirit. One of the main objectives of the Bauhaus was to unify art, craft, and technology.

WHERE:

The Bauhaus had a major impact on art and architecture trends in Western Europe, the United States, Canada and Israel in the decades following its demise, as many of the artists involved fled, or were exiled by, the Nazi regime.
